This rifle has all of the original factory blue finish intact, but it has slightly brown patina to it. The knurling that made it easier to attach the aperture to the sight made loosening it to adjust elevation in its double duty as an adjustment knob just as easy. The rear aperture that was not being used for sighting the rifle was used ingeniously as the rear elevation adjustment knob holding on the rear peep sight. The 341-P's came with 4 front sight inserts and two different sized rear apertures. This factory peep sight example is serial number 109512, and according to the barrel coding it was manufactured in June of 1937 in the second year of production for this model.
